Archiving

The Andalasian International Journal of Entomology (AIJENT) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. To support this mission, AIJENT utilizes both the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and the LOCKSS system for digital archiving.

Key Elements of AIJENT’s Archiving Policy

  1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

    • AIJENT participates in the PKP Preservation Network, which provides decentralized, reliable archiving for open-access scholarly content. Through PKP PN, AIJENT’s published articles are securely stored across a distributed network, safeguarding the content from potential data loss or server failure.
  2. LOCKSS System

    • AIJENT utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system across a network of participating libraries. This system allows libraries to create permanent archives of AIJENT’s content, ensuring preservation and restoration capabilities over time. The LOCKSS system also provides redundancy, making it possible to recover content even in the event of data loss or damage. Additional information about the LOCKSS system can be found at www.lockss.org.
  3. Permanent Access and Preservation

    • By employing PKP PN and LOCKSS, AIJENT guarantees that all articles, metadata, and supplementary materials remain accessible and preserved indefinitely. These archiving systems protect the integrity and availability of AIJENT’s published research for future generations.
  4. Encouragement of Institutional and Repository Archiving

    • In addition to AIJENT’s own preservation measures, authors are encouraged to deposit copies of their published work in institutional repositories, personal websites, and subject-specific archives, further enhancing the visibility and resilience of entomological research.

This robust archiving policy reflects AIJENT’s commitment to preserving scientific knowledge, ensuring that entomological research remains accessible and secure for the global academic community.
